FIELD: manufacture of tantalum capacitors. SUBSTANCE: metal fibers composed of tantalum, niobium, or their alloys, up to 3 microns in cross-sectional area and up to 400 micron in length, are subjected to fulling in volatile medium; the latter is removed and arbitrarily oriented fibers are heated for 20 minutes to temperature required to bind them in nonlinear porous order so as to makes them cylindrical in shape; then they are sintered to obtain bound body.
