SUBSTANCE: method includes successive stages of mechanical filtration, separation of calcium on modified zeolite separation of magnesium on subacid cationite and processing of obtained sea water, regeneration of subacid cationite. At the stage of processing of softened sea water, it is desalinated to produce sweet water and simultaneous obtaining of secondary brine with salt concentration of at least 100 g/l which is used for regeneration of modified zeolite. the plant for embodiment of the method includes installed in succession of the process: filter with natural zeolite, column with modified zeolite, column with subacid cationite and additional column of calcium separation connected in parallel with column containing modified zeolite.
