FIELD: control systems, in particular, remote control of home appliances, for example, light, TV set, musical centers, TV cameras of guarding system and so on. SUBSTANCE: method involves detection of three-dimensional coordinates of optical emitters which are connected to operator's body, generation of control action towards controlled object using these values. Optical emitters are located on remote control unit. One optical emitter is designed as primary one and has controlled emitting characteristics. In addition method involves selection of direction and intensity of control action by means of alternation of three-dimensional position of remote control unit. Controlled object is selected by means of remote control unit using emission characteristics of primary optical emitter with controlled emitting characteristics. Remote control unit position in three-dimensional space is detected by means of two-dimensional optical image of region in which it is probably located with projection of optical emitters. Position of projections of optical emitters in two- dimensional optical image is used for detection of three-dimensional position of remote control unit. Direction and intensity of control action conforms to vector difference between three-dimensional coordinates of optical emitters in current moment and moment when controlled object has been selected.
