FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, in particular, methods of processing of vanadium-containing and iron-ore materials with production of steel and recovery of vanadium into slag suitable for further use. SUBSTANCE: method includes charging into blast furnace of pellets, sinter, coke, flux and basic vanadium-containing steel or basic vanadium-containing steel-melting slag as flux and vanadium-containing material. Vanadium iron is smelted and processed in steel-melting unit with recovery of vanadium into acid slag. Iron is preliminarily processed in steel-melting unit by monoprocess with vanadium recovery into basic vanadium-containing steel-melting slag. It is charged into blast furnace as vanadium-containing material and flux. Vanadium iron is smelted and processed in steel-melting unit to produce acid slag with high content of vanadium. Basic vanadium-containing steel-melting slag is produced with CaO/SiOSiO2 within 2.8-4.0. When blast furnace is charged with pellets, sinter which do not contain vanadium and basic vanadium-containing steel-melting slag, iron is smelted with vanadium content up to 0.45 wt.-%. When charge includes basic vanadium-containing steel-melting slag and vanadium-containing pellets and sinter, iron is smelted with vanadium-content ranging from 0.45 to 1.0 wt.-%. EFFECT: reduced consumption of coke and higher output of blast furnace by 2-3% and production of commercial vanadium slag with new service properties. 4 cl, 1 tbl
