FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, particularly, methods of pyrometallurgical processing of vanadium-containing and iron-ore materials for production of vanadium slag used in hydrometallurgical processing. SUBSTANCE: method includes charging into blast furnace of burden from pellets, sinter, coke, flux and basic vanadium-containing steel melting slag, and smelting of vanadium iron. Introduced into burden additionally in initial charging of blast furnace is manganese-containing addition in amount ensuring in vanadium iron the following components ratio V:Mn = (1.2-4.0). It provides for reduction of pig iron with blast-furnace slag. Basic steel-melting slag is used in the form of slag produced in processing vanadium iron by monoprocess in converter that prevents skulling of hot-metal transfer ladles and blast-furnace tapholes and increases their service life, and renders labor input in their cleaning. In addition, the method provides for production of vanadium-containing slag with higher degree of vanadium breakdown in hydrometallurgical processing. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 1 tbl
