FIELD: alumina production by any conventional method; may be used as integral part of reactors for crystallization (decomposition) of aluminum hydroxide from aluminate process liquors for stirring hydrate slurries. SUBSTANCE: apparatus comprises cylindrical shell, inlet pipes for supply of reactants, outlet pipes for emptying apparatus, overflow pipe for taking product samples Shell houses shaft carrying impellers which ends carry inwardly bent boxes. The latter are provided with inlet and outlet openings arranged opposite each other along axis of box. EFFECT: increased stirring intensity; lower power consumption due to increased pumping effect. 3 cl, 3 dwg
