FIELD: geology, determination of dynamics of distribution of stressed-deformed state of rock mass while conduction mode observations. SUBSTANCE: special observation holes which depth is less than depth of level of underground waters are drilled to increase authenticity of determination of zone of preparation of earthquake, its magnitude and time of occurrence. In each of these holes dynamics of release of radon from rock mass and summary amount of seismic energy coming into each observation hole are recorded continuously. From series of observations zones with successive decrease or increase or release of radon are isolated in time with due account of coming seismic energy, specified zones are marked on map of investigated region. Area of zone of dynamic decrease of release of radon is used to evaluate position of epicenter and magnitude of anticipated earthquake. Dynamics of decrease and/or increase of release of radon in observation holes is used to estimate time of anticipated seismic occurrence. EFFECT: increased authenticity of determination of zone of preparation of earthquake, its magnitude and time of occurrence. 4 dwg
