FIELD: electric engineering. SUBSTANCE: device is designed as several identical groups of electrodes which are arranged in stack. Electrodes of adjacent groups are spaced by equal step, arranged in circle and are shifted with respect to one another by half of inter-electrode gap to provide groups of equilateral triangles between electrodes of groups. Groups are connected to three-phase power supply in parallel with respective shift which provides reverse phase alternation in adjacent triangles. During operation current grid, which is shaped by electrodes in groups and between groups, generates vertical plasma column which has ring current region and plasma tabernacle.
