FIELD: thermal engineering; devices for igniting gas by using electric spark and auxiliary flame, primarily in industrial boilers. SUBSTANCE: flame igniter has mixing chamber 1 with gas and air supply headers 2 and 3, respectively, at its inlet. Mounted on chamber 1 is precombustion chamber 5 with spark plug 6. Tube 8 is connected on one end to precombustion chamber 5 and on other end it is placed on inlet of mixing chamber 1. In addition, connected to gas supply header 2 is tube 12 whose outlet is located inside boiler 15. When flame igniter is functioning, gas-air mixture fills up interior of mixing chamber 1 and precombustion chamber 5 through tube 8. Electric spark from spark plug 6 ignites mixture in precombustion chamber 5 and flame produced in the process fires up mixture inside chamber 1 through hole 4; this mixture is passed through gas pipeline 11 to interior of boiler 15 wherein it ignites gas leaving tube 12. EFFECT: improved reliability of gas ignition. 3 cl, 1 dwg
