FIELD: chemical industry; regeneration of used mixtures of nitric and sulfuric acids; concentration of sulfuric acid; metallurgy for cooling aggressive liquids and gases; wood pulp-and-paper industry. SUBSTANCE: interior of cooler housing is lined with castable refractory coat and is divided into separate chambers. Walls are made from fluoroplastic cylinders. Lining material is so poured that passage is formed in lower portion of cooler for connection of all chambers. In upper portion, lining has overflow sill made at level of discharge branch pipe. Fluoroplastic cylinders have longitudinal cuts in upper portion at level of overflow sill. Heat-transfer elements arranged inside chambers are made from U-shaped fluoroplastic tubes bundled together.
