FIELD: scientific models in technical physics, in particular, investigation of inertial fission, agitation of non-transparent materials. SUBSTANCE: method involves filling container with materials of different density and generation of explosion impact wave by means of chemical explosive. Material with low density conforms to condition of neutron moderation, while material with high density conforms to condition of neutron capture. Flow is detected by means of measurement of gamma-pulse which is generated in material under investigation from pulse neutron source which characteristic duration is much less than time scale of process under investigation. Pulse neutron source conforms to condition that neutrons are out of pulse rNr, which is equal to 106≤N≤1017 while pulse half-width (duration at half-height) is τ1/2≤ 1μs. Method involves investigation of different stages of flow of material using regulation of synchronism of firing explosion impact wave and pulse neutron source. Border between materials contains arbitrary perturbations. If container is filled with additional high-density material inside the low-density material, both compression and deviation stages can be analyzed. EFFECT: investigation of processes in non-transparent materials of different density under impact of high temperature and pressure, investigation of agitation in devices with arbitrary geometry. 6 cl, 2 dwg
