FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: proposed butt joint is intended for butt connection of individual sections of graphite or carbon electrodes in rigid and immobile way with use of special couplings with inner thread into which joining member with double thread or nipple with drilled blind holes used as reservoirs for placement of hard conducting adhesive are screwed. At least one of these reservoirs is filled with special synthetic adhesive formed by thermally setting resin that melts at temperature exceeding 60 C in presence of proper polymerization catalyst, forms liquid phase displaying inherent viscosity not less than 2500 centipoises within temperature range 90-120 C and polymerizes at temperature equal or above 120 C.
