METHOD OF MANUFACTURE OF HIGH-STRENGTH TUBES-ENVELOPES FROM COMPOSITE MATERIALS (VERSIONS) Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical engineering: manufacture of tubes-envelopes used for aeronautical and space engineering; pressure bottles; pipe lines of petrochemical and gas industries; construction and laying service lines. SUBSTANCE: method includes winding unidirectional threads impregnated with polymer binder on mandrel. In impregnating the threads, envelope-nucleus is formed. High-modulus threads are introduced into nucleus and envelope is applied from thermoreactive epoxy-containing binder whose mass is equal to 30-45 percent of mass of nucleus and then it is fully hardened on this thread. Thread of rigid structure thus formed is coated with polymer binder; used as polymer binder is thermoplastic binder whose mass is equal to 30-45 percent of mass of thread of envelope-nucleus structure. Winding is done with thread of new structure followed by forming the bearing layers of tube-envelope. According to other version, elastoplastic binder, such as rubber or polyurethane is used.
