METHOD FOR TREATING DEEP BURN WOUNDS Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: medicine; treatment of deep burn wounds of 3B-4 categories. SUBSTANCE: method involves using as film dressing material, dressing material containing mixture of antibiotics and perforated with rows of holes in such a manner as to form rectangles of continuous surface with sides 100 and 200 mm long. Holes are rectangular and have sides of 1 mm and 3-5 mm, holes are spaced apart at a distance of 1 mm from each other. Wounds are first treated to completely eliminate necrolysis and to form granulations, followed by sparing dermatomic ectomy of granulated zones and autodermoplasty. When patient is recovered from burn shock, he is subjected, if necessary, to dermatomic necrectomy. After autodermoplasty, treatment of autodermotransplants and donor wounds is conducted using perforated film wound-dressing material. After grafting skin flaps onto operated skin surface, individual compression underwear is put on. EFFECT: accelerated healing of burn and donor wounds; reduced treatment time; lower risk for formation of scars. 4 cl
