FIELD: processes and equipment for electric-spark coat applying. SUBSTANCE: invention is based upon process of electric- spark coating in conditions of quasiperiodical changes of amplitude of ultrasonic oscillations of alloying electrode caused by superposition of two induced ultrasonic oscillations with similar frequencies and amplitudes. Spark discharges are realized in time moments of lowering amplitude of resulting ultrasonic oscillation until minimum threshold value. Method favorably differs from well known methods using ultrasound superposition due to possibility of performing alloying process at discharges with wide range of power and duration change at sustaining high stability of their intensity. Method provides uniform layers of high continuity and density with thickness up to 1000 mcm and with surface roughness determined according to parameter Ra=1.25-0.32 mcm (arithmetic mean of profile fluctuations). Throughput of method - (10-20) square cm/min at repetition frequency of discharges 200-1000 Hz. Apparatus for performing the method includes acoustic system with alloying electrode in one end and with two converters with the same power and frequency values supplied from two separate generators by exciting currents of similar frequencies. In front of electric spark electrode there is pickup whose signals are used for matching pulses of discharge current and quasiperiodical changes of resulting oscillation.
