FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: this relates to tool production and particularly to grinding out chip-breaking grooves in replaceable multiface cutting strips. Device has body with slots which are made with permanent basis planes. Installed on body of device is strip clamping mechanism. Located in body slots are replaceable supporting bar and replaceable thrust bar. These bars are arranged at angle to body base which is equal to main front angle of chip breaking groove. Thrust bar is provided with additional slots and their basis planes are located to each other at angle which is equal to angle at top of cutting edge of grinding strip.
