FIELD: wood protection against rotting. SUBSTANCE: wood is treated by wood preservative that can prevent growth and spreading of funguses, this preservative contains at least one complexing agent which binds at least part of metals, usually iron and manganese, naturally contained in wood that are rather important for growth of funguses. Complexing agent may be, for instance, ethylene- diaminetetra-acetate, ethylenediamine-di- (-o-hydroxyphenylacetate, polyphosphate ((Na5P3O10)) or siderophore produced by microorganism. In the method use is made of aqueous wood anti-ager that is specific for rotting funguses corroding the wood. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 10 cl, 5 tbl
