FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: this is intended for use in overburden removing operations performed by excavators accompanied by bulldozers for piling thaw unproductive kinds of rock at overburden thickness of up to 10 m at placer deposits with industrial contour width within 40-150 m. According to method, rock is extracted by excavator in successive passes. Excavated material is initially dumped to temporary piles arranged on untouched area with subsequent moving them beyond overburden area to permanent pile. In extracting rock, excavator working runs are performed at acute angle to direction of work front advancement and at obtuse angle to direction of rock pushing by bulldozer.
