SUBSTANCE: when bending preheated glass sheets displacing them over a forming band made of a set of rotating cylindrical members 1 arranged either into circular or conical outline in longitudinal with respect to forming band direction. On at least initial section of the glass- bending zone of forming band, glass sheets are affected by at least one hot air cushion 5. The latter is created by means of corresponding units 6,7 made, for example, in the form of elongated hollow bodies closed by porous wall. Above-mentioned units 6,7 can be disposed over and/or under forming band. Hot air cushion can be created all over the glass-bending zone of forming band.
