FIELD: flaw detection methods. SUBSTANCE: method consists in measuring the parameters of material of walls of tube and electric current distributed in walls of tube when flaw detector-projectile moves along pipe line in flow of product being transported to determine deviations of measured parameters from preset values; then coordinates of deviation thus found are determined with the aid of coordinate determination system and are recorded, after which device is stopped by the command from control system and is returned to coordinates of deviation revealed. Then flaw detection is repeated at preset speed. The results of measurements are processed and recorded. Device for realization of this method includes two-module mechanism provided with radiation source units; each module has supporting members with units of their radial motion; one module is provided with aerodynamic propeller whose shaft is connected with shaft of hydraulic pump which supplies the entire hydraulic system of device with hydraulic fluid through electrohydraulic valves, thus ensuring reciprocation of one module relative to other, rotation of units of sensitive elements, rotation of electric generator of power supply system and motion of supporting members.
