FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: method consists in measurement of material parameters and detection of flaws in main pipelines with varying densities and velocities of transported product by means of a two-module flaw detector-shell with varying cross-sectional area as per outside perimeter of the housing and obtaining an image of the inner surface of the pipeline in a visible wave length range. In the device of two-module flaw detector-shell, on one of the modules there arranged in the plane perpendicular to its longitudinal axis are flat flaps having a possibility of synchronous opening and enlargement of the cross-sectional area of the flaw detector-shell; an additional aerodynamic screw is installed with rotation direction opposite to the first one; balancing devices of centres of masses are used and a multichannel optoelectronic device for receiving information on the inner surface of the pipeline is installed.
EFFECT: receiving more reliable and accurate information on state of the inner surface of the main pipelines at varying conditions of movement of the transported product and improving use efficiency of a flaw detector-shell.
