FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: prior to bringing the rotating lobed wheel in contact with blank emery paper lobes engage COTC positioned on one level with surface being worked and moved either continuously or periodically in direction parallel to wheel axis of rotation. When in contact with COTC, lobes are cleared of working waste and coated with protective layer of COTC. EFFECT: higher quality of part surfaces in polishing. 1 tbl, 2 dwg
