FIELD: metallurgy; may be used in reprocessing of vanadium-containing, in particular, for increasing the recovery of vanadium and production of ecologically clean vanadium-containing slag. SUBSTANCE: method includes cooling of melt and production of slag of the preset fraction composition by means of compressed gases and/or water, or by building up on coolers; transfer of soluble vanadium compounds into aqueous solution and recovery of vanadium from slag and aqueous vanadium-containing solution into commercial products. Preset fraction composition of slag may be attained by granulation with use of aqueous solution in the form of service water, or aqueous solutions of salts, acids and alkalis. EFFECT: production of ecologically clean vanadium-containing slag and exclusion of growth of ecologically harmful technological formations. 4 cl, 3 tbl
