METHOD TO PREDICT PERINATAL NEPHROPATHY AT PRE-DISEASE STAGE Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, neonatology, nephropathology. SUBSTANCE: method deals with collecting urine in neonatals at the quantity of 10 ml. Urinary portion is placed into light-free cuvette in a device for chemiluminescence registration. After registration of a dark current device's curtain should be opened to measure a spontaneous one-minute-long luminescence. To increase urinary luminescence intensity solution of ferrous iron sulfate is supplemented into a cuvette at 0.5 ml in concentration of 50 mM. Registration of chemiluminescence is conducted for 5 minutes. A light sum of luminescence is determined as an area under a curve of chemiluminescence registration at 1 square cm and expressed in conventional units. At luminescence amplitude increase being above 20 units, light sum of luminescence being above 4 units it is possible to predict perinatal nephropathy at pre-disease stage. So, neonatals are included into the risk group according to renal pathology. EFFECT: more simplified, rapid and non-invasive method to estimate the state of renal functional activity in neonatals to conduct further prophylactic measures to exclude functional overloading and development of pre-disease stage into disease one. 1 dwg
