FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method employs wheel with cuts on tabs one of which is located at root of tab in parallel with axis of rotation of wheel and second one at angle relative to axis of rotation in direction from vertex of tab located on side of groove, towards its center. Different physico-mechanical and/or technological properties are imparted to peripheral and end sections of tabs by applying different technological means to them. Wheel is inserted into slot at negative allowance and is set in rotary motion. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 2 dwg, 1 tbl
