FIELD: railway transport; protection of rails and wheels from wear. SUBSTANCE: organic binder-based lubricant is applied to surface of outer rail head on curvilinear sections of rail track. Lubricant includes solid lubricating material in form of dispersed powder, from 0.1 $$$ to 1 mm, and additionally introduced hydrocarbon containing surface active substance. Serpentinite is used as solid lubricant. Content of components, mas.%: serpentinite, 5-60; surface active substance, 1-20; organic binder, the balance. Lubricant is applied to upper surface of rail head. EFFECT: reduced wear of head and flange.
