FIELD: production of leather from fishes of various species. SUBSTANCE: method includes soaking the fishskin in the presence of tertiary amine oxide with its consumption of 0.3-1.0% of fishskin weight. Then fishskin is degreased, fleshed and subjected to fermentation treatment. After it fishskin is tanned with organic tannin in the presence of oxide of tertiary amine with consumption of 8.0-12.0 and 0.5-1.5 wt.-% of fishskin weight, respectively. EFFECT: higher intensification of process; improved quality of ready leathers. 1 tbl
