FIELD: laser engineering. SUBSTANCE: high-power cross-pumped gas laser has gas discharge chamber built up of two electrodes one being round or oval and other flat in shape. Stable-unstable resonator with single-sided output of beam is used for such laser, its instability plane being placed across beam and resonator axis, level with round or oval electrode so that resonator caustic occurs between flat and oval electrode.
