FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves determining size of gap between tooth and filling by evaluating fluorescence of fluorochrome introduced into the gap. Tooth cavity is formed and filled with filling material. The resulting surface is polished. The center of the filling is exposed to helium-neon laser radiation. Reflected signal spectrum is recorded. Jc fluorescence index is determined in the center of the filling from the reflected signal spectrum. Jb fluorescence index is determined in the same way at the filling boundary. Then photosensing solution is applied and held during 2-3 min to achieve better penetration of the solution into the space between the filling and tooth. Jc1 fluorescence index is determined in the same way in the center of the filling and the photosensing solution is removed by using alcohol solution until Jc1/Jc =1 ± 0.3, that is, until the whole amount of the photosensing solution is removed. Then fluorescence index Jb1 is determined at the filling boundary in the same way. Jc1/Jc =1 ± 0.3, that is, the whole amount of the photosensing solution being removed from the gap, filling is considered to be of high quality. Else, the tooth is refilled.
