FIELD: railway transport; unloading of rail tank cars. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes the following operations: pumping of residual fuel oil from tank car through heat exchanger, delivery of heated fuel oil after heat exchanger back into rail tank car, mixing of heated fuel oil with cold fuel oil, draining of heated fuel oil from tank car and delivering part of heated fuel oil after heat exchanger for transfer by pump bypassing rail tank car. Proposed method provides high efficiency and minimum energy consumption at heating and draining and it can be used for draining higher viscosity fuel oils. EFFECT: simplified system, improved reliability of control, reduced overall dimensions, materials usage and price of equipment, possibility of draining high viscosity residual fuel oils without watering. 4 cl, 11 dwg
