FIELD: materials handling facilities. SUBSTANCE: inventions relates to discharge of high-viscosity products from containers for storage and transportation. Method provides taking out product from bottom part of container in mixture with preliminarily heated product, passing of mixture through external heat exchanger where it is heated to preset temperature and returning of heated product into the container. Heated product is delivered into container. Heated product is delivered into container in turn to bottom and upper parts. When delivering heated product to bottom part of container, its delivery into upper part is stopped, and mixture of heated and cold products is taken out from bottom part. When delivering heated product to upper part of container, its delivery to bottom part of container and taking out of mixture of heated and cold products from bottom part of container are stopped. Cycles of alternate delivery of heated product into upper and bottom parts of container are carried out until cold product is completely replaced by heated product and then product is drained from container. Device for carrying out draining of product is provided with series-connected suction pipeline coupled with bottom part of container, pump, heat exchanger with pipeline to supply heat carrier and pressure pipeline with two parallel sections in which shutoff members are installed. Outlet of one of sections of pressure pipeline is located close to product surface in container, while second section of pressure pipeline is connected with bottom part of container close to inlet to suction pipeline.
