FIELD: convertible furniture for rest and for offices of ambulance station type. SUBSTANCE: bed has frame formed of front and rear tubular frame halves connected with supports and two pipes mounted between and pivotally connected with frame halves. Retaining unit has rotary L-shaped combs mounted on rear frame half and cooperating with stops on front frame half. Mat is stretched on bed frame by means of springs, such as extension coiled springs. Mat may be made in the form of rigid fabric with apron disposed at side opposite to head of the bed or of soft enclosure made from two joined fabric pieces and packed with filler. EFFECT: simplified conversion, enhanced reliability in operation and convenient usage. 4 cl, 4 dwg
