FIELD: knitted article production. SUBSTANCE: apparatus is designed for hosiery knitting machine having fixed supporting plate, vertical cylinder support, inner article discharge pipe aligned with cylinder support and perforated pipe disposed below cylinder support. Parts of machine are mounted for rotation relative to fixed supporting plate. Apparatus has flanges rigidly connected with lower part of cylinder support and upper part of perforated pipe and adapted for carrying respective number of permanent magnets arranged circumferentially to define magnetic coupling, which urges flanges into engagement one with another for transmitting rotary motion to perforated pipe. Rim made from material possessing high magnetic resistance is positioned in gap between magnet surfaces and provided with device engageable with article discharge pipe and device for selective engagement with flanges or fixed supporting plate for imparting rotary motion or stopping article discharge pipe. EFFECT: increased efficiency, simplified construction and provision for choosing operating mode of article discharge pipe. 5 cl, 2 dwg
