FIELD: railway construction industry. SUBSTANCE: this relates to joining and crossing of railway tracks. Spider has core, rail wings provided with baffle flanges on their outer sides, and two equal troughs which are formed in zone of locating core by its side walls and side walls of opposite rail wings, and in zone of converging troughs ahead of core they are formed by side walls of opposite rail wings. Width of trough is determined from following mathematical expression: C = t+(Bmax-Bmin)+δн+δв, where C - width of trough, t - thickness of wheel flange, Bmax - maximal width of tyre in rolling stock wheel, Bmin - minimal width of tyre in rolling stock wheel, δн - minimal permissible clearance between outer rim of wheel flange and trough wall, δв - minimal permissible clearance between side inner rim of wheel flange and trough wall. Width of working part of rail wing is determined from following relation: , where K - width of working part of rail wing, H - maximal ratio of wheel vertical load on spider to wheel diameter, E - modulus of steel longitudinal resilience, [σ] - permissible contact stress at interaction of wheels and spider, d - width of core which is cone-shaped in plan in zone of wheel running on core point. Aforesaid spider permits passing of wheels with tyres of various dimensions. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 3 dwg
