FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: frog for crossing of public tracks comprises front and rear lengths, a core and two counter rails forming the frog neck, an area of wheels rolling from the core to the counter rails enclosed between the core section equal to the width of the rail head and the frog neck, having an elevation of the longitudinal profile of rolling surfaces in this area made as a composite curve comprising sections coupled with each other, and at the borders of the profile elevation - with the frog lengths. The point of composite curve sections coupling matches the section, in which the frog allowance for vertical wear is regulated. The sections themselves are built in two different systems of coordinates, origins of which are located in the opposite ends of the rolling zone, axes of abscissas are directed oppositely to each other, and ordinates of each curve within the limits of each section are calculated according to the following formula: y = D · x2/l2 ·(3 - 2·x/l), where y - ordinate of longitudinal profile in rated section, x - absciss of rated section, D - allowance for vertical wear of the frog, l - absciss of section, in which the frog allowance vertical wear is regulated.
EFFECT: frog service life is increased.
