FIELD: construction engineering. SUBSTANCE: this can be used for laying underground service lines without need of digging trenches. Device has body with advancing mechanism, leading unit, and head-piece with supporting member. Maximal cross-sectional dimension of leading unit is not over maximal cross-sectional dimension of body. Rear end face of leading unit has recess. Located on bottom of recess is thrust member with working surface. Head-piece is secured on body. Supporting member of head-piece is made with working surface and its configuration corresponds to that of thrust member working surface. Length of leading unit over its longitudinal axis of symmetry amounts to at least 0.45 and not over 5.9 of its maximal cross-sectional dimension. Device operates with minimal deviation of preset direction of advancing when driving bore-holes in non-uniform grounds, and this is made possible due to enhanced sluggishness in return of leading unit to initial position after device overcomes hard inclusion.
