FIELD: medicine, applicable for measurement of intraocular pressure with the aim of early diagnosis of glaucoma and other ocular diseases. SUBSTANCE: the method consists in illumination of the center of the cornea by a light beam directed to the eye optic axis at an angle, deformation of the cornea by pneumatic action on it and measurement of amplitudes of electric signals corresponding to the light ones reflected from the cornea. The cornea is illuminated by another light beam directed in parallel with the first one, the distance between the beams does not exceed the value of the cornea radius. Prior to cornea deformation, the angles between the eye optic axis and beams reflected from the cornea are determined, the sum of these angles is found. Pneumatic action is accomplished is accomplished periodically within the acoustic-wave band, the values of amplitudes of shift of the energy center of reflected beams are determined according to the measured amplitudes of the electric signal and position characteristic of the indicating device. The mean value of this amplitude is found, which is then used for determining the amplitude of periodic angular oscillations of reflected beams according to the design formula. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy and reduced traumatism in measurement of intraocular pressure. 4 dwg
