METHOD FOR SUTURING LIMBORADIAL CUT IN CONJUNCTIVA Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves making suture first on the limbal portion of the cut. Conjunctival flaps positioned symmetrically to the radial cut are connected in turn with one thread to the superficial layer of the limbus. The suture is tightened to bring the borders of the limbal portion of the cut in coincidence and knot is tied. The radial portion of the cut is sutured using one of the ends of the same thread and applying continuous suture. In suturing the limbal portion with single thread, one of (the first ) conjunctival flaps is first sutured from outside in the region of its corner. The superficial limbus layers are sutured first in front of the second flap. The second is sutured from inside in the region of its corner in symmetrical relation to the radial cut axis. The borders of both flaps are brought close one to the other and to the limbal portion of the cut. The radial portion of the cut is sutured with continuous suture by drawing the thread ends together. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of treatment; rapid tissue cohesion; reduced risk of postoperative complications. 2 cl
