FIELD: electrochemical methods. SUBSTANCE: when preparing sparingly soluble metal compounds in cathode chamber of two-chamber electrolyzer with anion-exchange membrane, initial solution is continuously introduced into cathode chamber, while maintaining pH value within the range providing stability to those compounds. Resultant precipitate is filtered off, and filtrate is transferred into the anode chamber of electrolyzer. Expensive metal electrodes are substituted by bipolar membranes with their anion-exchange side facing anode. Concentration of salts, when processing metal- containing solutions in cathode chamber, is maintained from 100 to 250 g/l. EFFECT: increased productivity and reduced power consumption. 4 cl, 4 tbl
