FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to water purification and can be used for obtaining high-quality drinking water with improved physical-chemical and organoleptic properties, suitable for bottling in household conditions, in public places, children's and medical facilities and in field water supply. The method of purifying drinking water involves mechanical, ion-exchange, sorption purification and electrolysis in a diaphragm cell. The stream coming out of the anode chamber of the electrolysis cell is processed on an anion-exchange sorbent, and the stream coming out of the cathode chamber is processed on a cation-exchange sorbent. At the outlet of the anode chamber, water pH is kept at 2.5 to 6.0 and at 7.5 to 11.0 at the outlet of the cathode chamber. Water streams after separation processing in ion-exchange purification units are combined and subjected to further sorption and mechanical purification.
EFFECT: increased degree and rate of purifying water, longer service life of sorbents and possibility of regulating acid-base properties (pH) and salt composition of purified water.
