FIELD: refractories industry, more particularly manufacture of refractory products, linings for high temperature metallurgical units. SUBSTANCE: in order to increase thermal resistance and high temperature strength of corundum compound-based refractory lining, refractory compound is poured into mold, the whole is rammed on vibration area for 2 or 3 minutes. The resulting units are roasted with off gases for 48 hours by gradually raising temperature from 20 to 500 C according to specially devised procedure. Units are cooled in disconnected kiln and are further cooled under natural conditions. EFFECT: more efficient manufacturing method. 2 cl, 2 tbl
