FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention, in particular, relates to processing effluent gases containing chlorine and/or hydrogen chloride. Processing consists in interaction of gases with oxide component in presence of liquid and separation of formed suspension. Method is distinguished by consecutively conducting this interaction: gases first interact with oxide component and then resultant gas suspension interacts with liquid by way of its recirculation into the process after suspension has been separated.
