FIELD: mechanical engineering; base members of internal combustion engine. SUBSTANCE: oil sump secured on cylinder block-and-crankcase unit of internal combustion engine is made as thin-walled member with bottom and coupling parts. Bottom part accommodates baffle in form of three-dimensional case consisting of vertical longitudinal and cross perforated plates secured on common perforated base. Baffle is mounted with clearance on linear surface of sump with minimum contact with above-indicated surface. Case has cavities for mounting engine lubrication system oil feed members opened at side of cylinder block-and-crankcase unit. Baffle can be furnished with horizontal perforated plates crossing vertical perforated plates. Case can be made, completely or partially, of high efficiency vibration-and-noise damping material.
