FIELD: material cutting by using energy of high-speed liquid jet. SUBSTANCE: jet is obtained by feeding liquid with electrically charged particles or current-conducting dopes to nozzle assembly. Additional energy is imparted to jet from its flow speed raising source. Upon passing through material being cut liquid is entrapped and conveyed to nozzle assembly for reuse. Liquid completes its loop with minimal hydraulic loss. Jet loss is compensated for by exposing liquid circulating in loop to magnetic and/or electromagnetic fields and by injecting some portion of liquid.
