DEVICE FOR AIR DEODORATION AND BACTERICIDAL TREATMENT IN ELECTRICAL DISCHARGE Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: bactericidal and chemical treatment of atmospheric air in electrical discharge. SUBSTANCE: device has electric motor whose shaft mounts shank of radial-flow fan blading having two impellers joined together by means of end dielectric diaphragms. Blading is inserted in scroll case that has two side inlet holes (left- and right-hand ones) and common air duct that forms outlet air flow. Right-hand inlet hole is provided on wall that serves also to secure scroll case relative to motor shaft. Left-hand inlet hole has auxiliary lugs with two pairs of electrodes: needle-type high-voltage electrodes and blade-type current- collecting electrodes. Electrodes are mounted on metal studs threaded in upper part. Electrode pair is secured by means of auxiliary shank provided on disk in hole on fan impeller axle. High-voltage electrodes are connected to unipolar high-voltage source and have negative polarity; current-collecting electrodes are grounded. Left-hand inlet hole in fan receives air flow controller made in the form of movable bushing installed in auxiliary lug hole in case for longitudinal displacement and locking at desired distance a from electrode pair surface. Scroll case accommodates flow mixer mounted at outlet of air duct and incorporating poorly streamlined body with projecting plate. EFFECT: improved capacity and simplified design of device. 3 dwg
