FIELD: petrochemical processes. SUBSTANCE: method includes mixing raw material with activating additive Ц product of treatment of petroleum hydrocarbons by ozone-containing gas, heating the mixture in presence of steam, and cooling pyrolysis product. When mixing, 1-10 g of ozone absorbed by the additive is used per 1 kg of raw material. A part of raw material or heavy sulfur-containing pyrolysis product fractions can be utilized to prepare the additive. Ozonization is carried out preferably within 20 to 60 C temperature range, and pyrolysis at 580-680 C. EFFECT: enhanced pyrolysis efficiency. 5 cl, 1 tbl
