FIELD: metallurgy, in particular, processes of scrap and hot metal charging before starting blowing of melt with oxygen. SUBSTANCE: method includes loading of scrap by scoops into inclined converter, hot-metal charging from ladle with the help of hoisting crane. Prior to loading into converter, scrap found in scoops is coated with a layer of aqueous solution of lime or with lumpy lime. Consumption of aqueous solution of lime or lumpy lime is set within 5-10 kg/t of loaded scrap. EFFECT: reduced intensity of spitting of ecologically harmful gases from converter in the course of hot-metal charging following the scrap loading; increased stability of equipment and cranes surrounding the converter. 1 cl
