FIELD: metallurgy, in particular, processes of scrap and hot-metal charging into converter prior to starting blowing of melt with oxygen. SUBSTANCE: method includes charging of scrap by scoops into inclined converter and hot-metal charging into converter from ladle with the help of hoisting crane. Prior to hot-metal charging, supplied to converter working space for 0.2-2.0 min is neutral gas under pressure with flow rate of 0.5-1.0 cu.m/t of melt in converter. Neutral gas is supplied to converter through its mouth, bottom lances or through its steel taphole. EFFECT: reduced intensity of spitting from converter of ecologically harmful gases after charging of scrap in the course of hot-metal charging, and increased stability of equipment and cranes surrounding the converter. 2 cl
