FIELD: thermal engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves pre-mixing of components and combustion of mixture obtained in combustion chamber at excess air coefficients higher or lower than stoichiometric value; homogenized mixtures of air and gaseous fuel are produced in mixing assemblies of unit and fed to burner mouth over separate channels ensuring averaged level of fluctuations in excess air coefficients of pre-mixed parts of mixture across flow section at channel outlet; these parts are mixed up with components of mixture to be burned, and then mixtures are burned. Device implementing this method has mixing assemblies installed at some channels feeding mixture components to combustion chamber and sections for degenerating fluctuations of mixture concentrations are provided downstream of them; swirl generating parts are installed in mixing assemblies. EFFECT: reduced intensity of nitrogen oxide emissions during fuel mixture combustion. 3 cl, 3 dwg
