LUMBER DRYING RECIRCULATION CHAMBER Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: forestry and wood-working industry, in particular lumber drying equipment. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has horizontal cylindrical housing, circulation fans, lumber drying volume, with lumber filaments extending along direction of flowing of drying agent, drying agent heating volume, condensation volume within which plated water-cooled heating member is disposed, vacuum pump partially sucking used drying agent downstream of condensation volume. Heating volume is defined by annual space between cylinders with heating pipes extending along cylinder generatrices and connected with supplying and discharge outer collectors of water heating boiler. Drying volume is made in the from of cylindrical tank mounted on carts and filled with cylindrical lumber. Tank is hermetically sealed about cylinder generatrices. Plated heating members tightly adhere at both end sides to drying volume and are connected in series with fans. Plated heating members and fans operate in alternation so as to direct drying agent through lumber layer toward operating heating member and fan. When fans and heating members are changed over, drying agent reverses its flow direction. EFFECT: increased efficiency in drying lumber, simplified construction and enhanced reliability in operation. 5 dwg
